I ordered these for a gift after purchasing them myself. The packaging was really beat up, the little box the stones are housed in was even ripped so not great for a gift. Definitely would not purchase from this seller again, and is the reason for the two stars.
On the stones themselves, I was told they would work for any beverage (white wine, beer etc.) - They don't. However, they do work very well for someone who likes their whiskey neat and I would definitely recommend them for a whiskey drinker as they cool down the whiskey and open it up nicely, similar to a couple of drops of water.

I am very pleased with the Whiskey Stones that I ordered from Amazon.com. They arrived in time to give them to my husband as part of his Xmas present. They are a nice small size. I did expect them to be a little larger but it seems like this is a better size.

When I received this shipment it was in horrible condition! It looked as if it had been used and opened. The little plastic clear sticky closure (that keeps the box closed) looked dirty and as if it had been opened and closed a million times. This was a Christmas gift for my boss!! I was embarrassed that I had to give this to him. He probably thinks I used them! Now it's too late to buy another gift... I should've trusted the other review I read about poor packaging... I thought it was a one time issue.. And to make matters worse, I saw the same stones in the museum store by my house and they were only 20.00! Not to mention PERFECT condition. What a waste!
